The
clarity of a diamond refers to its purity.
Nearly all diamonds contain tiny imperfections known as
“inclusions” usually derived from traces of non-crystallised carbon or
tiny fractures in the stone. They
are nature’s way of making these beautiful, timeless stones unique to
each other, however the fewer inclusions there are, the more rare and
valuable the diamond.
A
diamond’s clarity is determined by magnification and is graded on a
“class” scale. The
following table will help explain a diamonds clarity rating.
