Lake Boga Mar 2019

We’re here with friends on edge of Lake Boga for the annual air show

Yesterday morning Barb and Ross walked around the lake … all 13km of it. The walk started of well, on a good path for around probably 4 or 5km … then abruptly ended.

Aside from turning tail and heading back, the only way forward was to head inland for about a km. That was the last that was seen of the lake until the highway just south of the caravan park.

Barb was shitting herself walking along the gravel verge of the highway until one of the many multi trailer semi’s came thundering towards her, then she would run off into the scrub

It was a hot, dry, long walk on a corrugated red dirt road being swarmed by 1million bloody flies … reminicent of the outback north. Ross loved it … Barb whinged the whole time.

The airshow runs all day from 10am to 4pm, and is visible from our campsite. Theres a really good museum here and fenced off ticket entry area with food vans, displays and live music.

Its a really good weekend and its our second time here.

The airshow features aerial aerobatics with a world class team and planes, plus fly overs by a raft of 2nd world war planes like Mustangs, Avengers, Wirraways among others.

Our travel companions are VIPs because they donated a lot of her dads model aircraft to the museum .. so Ross is milking the “Companion of the Order of VIP” status for all its worth.

Great spot here for anyone into water skiing.

BBQ dinner courtesy of the park BBQs .. no point dirtying our own stuff

Barb (the shorter one) having a bounce on the kids jumping pillow. Barb can get away with it because she’s shorter than most of the kids

Daniels best impersonation of a Tele Tubby

One of aerobatic bi-planes letting off some steam

Ross can see now why two stroke motors are banned fron Jul 1st this year … the environment is clearly better for that ban … wtf???

The dogs and kids in the lake

Everyone gets a shot on the jumping pillow

Still a single lane bridge over the Murray River at Swan Hill … progress hasnt progressed as far as Swan Hill just yet

Barb trying to land a catch … it ditched the hook, but likely a Carp by the dead weight haul

Great spot, great company, great weather, great festival, all in all a great long weekend. Whats not to like about this
