Surfers day 2

Being in the apartment is very much like coming home after a long absence.

Not in the romantic, calming comfortable sense … more in the ‘shit thats broken, thats filthy, wheres the bloody kettle’ kind of way.

Theres a lot of maintenance and cleaning to catch up on … but we dont have this view when we’re fixing and cleaning at the other home

You can probably see we have cleaned the windows so far but not the balcony glass.

Yesterday we spent much of the day stocking up on groceries, and grabbing some stuf from Bunnings, and getting into some maintenance. But first we had to walked into Cavil for a shockingly unheathy breakfast for Daniel.

We had a quick wander around Surfers to try and find a replacement hat for Ross. Driven by Barb hatred of Ross’s favourite hat, we drew blanks at every stop.

Ironically later in the day Barb was found sitting in the sun, reading a book and wearing the very same hat she has spent years denouncing. The term hypocrit, jumps to mind

Daniel’s absolute favourite celebrity, Donald J Trump, right here in Surfers Paradise. Daniel was warned that have probably been 1000 greasy, pimply sweaty heads in that mask … but he would not be denied

Ross went down to the dungeon to make sure our car starts to do the shopping and run around. We dont generally do our shopping in Surfers; too hard, and inconvenient, so we head out into the burbs.

Someone appears to have parked in a residents own car parking spot. The enormity of such a cataclysmic mistake is often overlooked or dismissed by tourists.

The resident has lined up behind the offenders vehicle

Push the offending vehicle out of the space with his own car

….. jambing it into a barrier and the concrete wall. I we suspect, walked away satisfied

Medical Responce crews on push bikes in Surfers … or should we say we maybe thats what they want us to believe. Seems like a great idea but the backup vehicle we walked past and can see from the balcony didnt move all day.

Parking is a premium, and freecamping non existant in Surfers … so maybe this is an elaborate ruse and they are just backpackers in a mocked up ambulance. Brilliant.

Everyone grows a cool, hip beard on holidays

Our favourite Thai cafe maybe in a very unimpressive location … but we like it and its still here, which is a good sign because there are a lot of vacant shops about Surfers

Finally off to the beach for a swim before dinner

Dad and his son. Two surf obsessed buddies about to do what they love

The swim started with a race
