Bit of a sleep in this morning; Poo Poo Head didn’t get up till after 7am this morning.
We went for our usual morning lap around the shops, cafes and eateries.
This afternoon we went for a trip on the Adventure Duck amphibious bus/boat which drives from Surfers Paradise to the Broadwater and then drive down the boat ramp into the water and bobs about the broadwater from the millionaire house in the canals to Sea World on The Spit. Poo Poo Head got to drive the Duck again
Poo Poo Head has become obsessed with the Dracula’s shop and the Ripleys Believe it or Not shop. The Dracula’s shop is the shop front for the Dracula’s theatre restaurant, and Ripley’s is the museum/tourist attraction named after the TV show of the same name.
Dracula’s has horror themed staff along with some robotic monsters and a shop full of horror/comedy type giftware. Ripley’s has a tiny car (go figure) and a robotic band of freaks in the entrance. Although Poo Poo Head thinks the real ghouls in Draculas is kind of amusing, he is frightened of the robotic figures at Ripleys.
Poo Poo Head knows exactly where both shops are and has to go to both repeatedly during the day. The Ripley’s sprookers keep trying to give us brochures 2 or 3 times a day, and the Dracula’s ghouls greet Poo Poo Head like a long lost friend.
Barb has been trying to buy a pair of sunglasses ever since we met. Every time she goes near a sunglasses shop we all know she will spend about 15 minutes mucking around inside and then re-appear empty handed. It’s become a ritual part of our holidays. We know she wont buy any, but we look and wait anyway.
