Day 1

The planned departure time blew out as normal, but it didn’t matter too much because the house wasn’t available until 2.30 pm anyway.

We couldn’t believe how much crap we had to park into the car. A week in the snow took twice as much room in the car than 2 months traveling up and down the east coast. The back of the ute was chocka block and Poo Poo Head was completely surrounded.

After a few stops for coffees, piddles and playgrounds we made it to Mt Beauty around 1.30pm.    On the drive over the Tawonga Gap we were greeted with a pretty good view of Falls Creek.

After dumping all the stuff we headed into town to firstly load up on crazy water (grog) and get Poo Poo Head fitted out with his ski equipment.

Poo Poo Head threw out the challenge early in the trip by resisting any and all attempts to fit him out with gear ……. 20 minutes of teeth gritting and lip biting later we were all geared up and back to the house to settle in.

The house is a 3 bedroon log cabin house completely lined with pine inside. The living area is very roomy with a combustion wood heater (stacked and split wood shed out the back)

It’s only 5.30pm and it’s already cold so the bedrooms will be a challenge during the night with the wood heater in the living room. Ross bought a blow heater to turn the laundry into a drying room, so the blow heater may pan out to be more handy than imagined.

The view is pretty good with Falls Creek resort a clear view out of the living room window, inviting us up for a play.

Poo Poo Head did a little test drive of his equipment …. Complete with his helmet and goggles.

Were all ready for a quick get-a-way tomorrow morning and early start to the mountain with Poo Poo Head going straight into Mighty Milo Kids Ski School. That should be fun for him.
