Day 400
We made our mythical 400 day on the road point. Its a bitter sweet milestone, and although we are looking forward to seeing our family Ross would very much prefer it to be a visit.
Ross keeps a camping rolling logbook, and adding up all the travels we’ve down in the campertrailer and the 2 caravans we’ve spent collectively over than 2 years camping.
We cant stay any longer at the Bungendore Showgrounds because there’s a dog show here commencing Friday and they want the room to spread the dog shit … so we’re out.
We have only 2 days left before we get home, or at least to our temporary home in the van at the factory. We’ve discovered somewhere along the way the day numbering has gone a little pear shaped. Today is actually day 400.
Day 400 is a very important milestone because it’s what we set out to do, and more importantly it means we don’t have to camp in the Woolworths Carpark for a few days before we drive down the street to home.
Thats also means
It was a very quiet and depressing drive toward the Victorian border
It was news to us that there was camping available at the Ettomogah Pub, and the cost of camping is putting $10 over the bar which was pretty easy to do
A business card attached to the post in the bar, not something we city folk see too often
The Ettomogah Pub is looking very tired and the surrounding buildings are closed and dilapidated. There’s plenty of wood rot in the pub and maintenance is clearly not a major priority
There is another Ettamogah Pub up on the Sunshine coast which recently cut all ties to NSW and painted out the Ettamogah Pub signage. Maybe the NSW Ettamogah Pub isnt long for this world
