1. Genoa

We’re off again back up the south coast of NSW for 10 days or so.

We planned to get to Genoa today in East Gippsland which is about 10km from the NSW border.

A quick stop in Bairnsdale Woolies, where Barb successfully directed Ross into the chaotic supermarket carpark dragging the Behemoth behind us, followed by a piddle stop and lunch at a parkland just on the northern end of Bairnsdale

The drive from Bemm River to the border is a bit shit, hilly, windy on a crappy road so its good to get that behind us. Smooth sailing from here north.

As usual Daniel watched movies quietly in the back, Max swapped between sleeping trying swap Barb out of his front seat, and Barb slept a bit but well short of her usual high standard

Our target Genoa is on the Princes Hwy, at the turn off to Mallacoota. Genoa is a small town but it the free camp on the banks of Genoa River we are interested in. Genoa leaves only a short casual 3 hour hop to Broulee where we are due in two days into a caravan park.

We’ll wander about the south coast of NSW tomorrow and then find another free camp tomorrow night before heading to Broulee Friday morning.

The free camp in Genoa was at one point many moons ago a small local caravan park. Now its just a nice grassy area adjacent to the river

Its cold here already at 5.30pm as the sun goes down so it will be bloody cold overnight we’re guessing. We stopped about 30min back in Cann River on the way through to fuel up and Ross turned on the diesel heater there so it was toasty warm in the van when we arrived.

From the pic anx video above obviously Ross has managed the first successful full drone flight since the drone started playing up in Dec last year, when the issue was found to be the very very expensive smart LiPo4 battery.

The replacement battery drama saw 4 new batteries purchased in an effort to replace the original, including 1 x counterfeit which the drone wouldnt recognise, and 2 x DOA … each one worth upto $260 ea.
