Day 44 Nov 29th – Ulladulla

The only difference between yesterday and today is when we (read Ross) packed up in the rain this morning, the rain was heavier but there wasn’t anyone around to watch and laugh.

A couple of our distant neighbours were also packing up this morning, one caravan, one pop-top caravan and one in a series of tents.   The caravan guy got out of it very cheaply; the pop-top caravan guy was wandering around in the rain for what we’re sure for him felt like an eternity; the tent people rolled everything up threw in the back of the car and were all gone in about 10 minutes.

The pop-top guy didn’t have a rain coat, umbrella or even a hat.   He didn’t own a rain coat, resigned himself to the inevitable soaking, or simply enjoyed the time away from his wife regardless of the weather.

Ross once again risked pneumonia and pleurisy by packing up single handedly in the cold, miserable rain.   (Ross thinks he may have just a little pleurisy now)

Whilst working hard in adverse condition, but still ever conscious of his appearance, Ross managed to look gorgeous in his one piece camouflage poncho as he flitted about the camp almost oblivious to the horrid conditions.

You may find it difficult to actually see Ross in the photos and video because he blends in so well with the environment in his camouflage poncho.   Not too many people can pull off making a poncho look good, but we think Ross has managed to get it just right.

Ross showed is special rain dance skills

Easts caravan parks started at this East Beach Kiama Caravan Park way back 100 years ago with the East family.   It started as a diary farm that people enjoyed camping near the beach.   Fascinating story and very big caravan park terraced up the sides of the valley with terrific views over the beach.

Then we were off to Ulladulla which is a little like ground hog day for Ross packing up in Kiama in crappy conditions only to drive for an hour and a half to set up in exactly the same conditions.   The rain hasn’t stopped.

In Ulladulla we decided to splash out and get an ensuite site.   Although Ross believes walking 100 metres to the toilet to shower and piddle in caravan parks is all part of the travelling experience, he is a little over the rain today after spending most of his day out in it!!!!

Ross is making plans for a 4 hour shower later.

Where we are in Ulladulla

Ulladulla has a movie theatre and “fun Place” which we suspect might be a Time Zone.   Tomorrow is likely to see us at the movies … there’s a couple of kids movies Ross wants to see.   Poo Poo Head said he’d supervise Ross at the movies if Ross behaves himself and eats all his Pork Stew.  (Yum Yum, says Ross.   He can hardly wait)
