Sovereign Hill

Spent a glorious day at Sovereign hill.

Took a coach ride which was a lot like a wild west.  Ross mentioned getting up on the roof in case the indians attacked the coach …. who should be standing outside the coach at the time.  A family of Indians (of the Mumbai variety)

We ventured down to Chinese diggings and made our way through the Chinese tents, store and Dr’s. At the end of area was the Chinese temple. We all wandered in and it was a light and sound auditorium with a detailed presentation of how the Europeans (us) and government treated the Chinese diggers like dog sh*t. The presentation included some personal accounts of the Chinese struggles.

Barb had already left. Ross couldnt sit through the presentation because all the seats were occupied by Chinese people. It was quite difficult for the sit through it without offering a humble apology to the Chinese people in the temple, and refund their 1£ licence fees.
