19 Merry Beach

Storm moved away early evening and everything returned to normal. It remained mild, and there was a nice breeze.

Max was very eager to chase the kangaroos on day one, but after a few days surrounded by roos Max has lost interest. Thats what Max wants Ross and Barb to think, Max on the other hand is thinking if one of those weird looking bastards come close enough, im going to eat it.

The caravan park is dog friendly all year, and the entire beach is on lead only.

Ross and Barb met some doodle folk last night while taking Max for a evening walk. They have a Labradoodle and a Bernadoodle. There are always a few dogs on the beach off lead, and Ross suggested taking Max down early morning. The other doodle people take their dogs to the beach early morning.

It seems when a stranger suggests the early morning dog fun on the beach it holds more weight because Barb was up early (early for her) and was off with Max down the beach.

Bathtime has a whole new meaning when we have no water on site. We had to run the hose from the front tap to behind the van and use our tanks and pump

Ross and Barb rode their bikes from Merry Beach to Bawley Point, around 8km away. Nice beach and the remnents of some kind of jetty with very clear signs “no jumping off”, which seems to be the hottest jump off spot in NSW

We’d take Daniel up the Bawley Point if there was even the remotest chance he’d jump off the jetty … but he wouldnt

On their return Ross and Barb were rewarded with a fresh brewed coffee; well, Barb was rewarded, Ross made it

Max has found a new place to relax, and at $140 each for the chairs someone can stand whilst he’s in it. “Someone” means Barb or Daniel because it’s their dog, but we all know it will be Ross

The afternoon was spent in the surf, Daniel the entire time with Ross and Barb taking shifts. You read right, Barb was in the surf … behind the little kids in the 2ft deep white slop near the sand.

Ross took a huge gamble to get these shots to prove Barb was in the surf. Some creepy bloke on the foreshore lining up his phone camera in binoculars taking pics of people on the beach thats adjacent to a caravan park, and beach, full of kids …. and their parents

It very exhausting being a busy Doodle on beach holidays, and rest is often required

Ross and Daniel took the boogie board out … again, forgetting the GoPro, damn it.

Our neighbours have a new fandangled Aerodome inflatable tent. There is a growing list of manufacturers that are making tent without poles, but with sealed in inflatable tubes in place of the poles.

The neighbours tent is huge, but we’d want to see it in a heavy wind before we cast judgement. Until then, it looks pretty impressive

BBQ for dinner, and just in case you’ve forgotten the view we have during every single activity we do … heres a reminder

Many poor folk in the caravan park have no view at all, yes its true and its horribly sad. Ok, stiff shit loosers we’re over it, move on.

They cart their booze, their chairs, their friends and their jealous envy to sit under the foreshore trees to watch the special folk, like us, who have beach front sites. It’s annoying, but we feel like we’re helping them cope.

They are forbidden from sitting within our view, but we can still see the bastards.
