Byron Bay day 1

We left Mooloolaba with a heavy heart this morning bound for NSW.

The turning point where we “U” turn and start to head south is a crap feeling because every kilometre is a kilometre closer to Vic.

We crossed the border with sad faces, although Poo Poo Head had a slightly different angle on displaying his sadness

We stopped at Maccas outside Mooloolaba at a service centre to raise up Ross’s caffeine quota to safe levels. The maccas carpark seperated this

We’re not sure if its an inappropriate location for McDonalds or a direct result of McDonalds …. the coffee was ok tho.

We arrived in Byron Bay and it was quite hot. We met friends with thier son, Finley, who goes to school with Daniel, and they are staying with us for the week but neither of the boys knew. Our friends will be introduced over the next few days.

The camping experience is new to Sarah, so the critique at the end of the week will be interesting.

Barb organised for every one to “just be” in same place at the park and wait for the kids to find each other. Ross setup camp and Barb headed to the park.

Daniel saw Finley and just thought he was a random kid who looked like the real Finley so the whole thing fell a little flat.

Ross, mean while had the exciting opportunity to set up all the stuff we have but very rarely, if ever, use on our own. The annex and gazebo went up and Ross was very excited. The annex floor has never been used.

Ross headed to the beach for a quick swim before takeaway dinner after a long day all round everyone.
