We’ve seen quite a few of these Complete Campsite camper trailers during the trip. Ross checked them out online to see if there was any obvious reason they seem so popular. They must be well appointed because this particular model, with the boat rack, costs the best part of a whopping $50,000.
We struggle to see the value, albeit that it might be a fantastic unit, it just doesnt look like it could possibly be worth $50,000 …. at that price its compatible to a real, and very big caravan …. with aircon, shower and toilet, and all completely set up …. before you park it.
There is of course the very strong argument that those camper trailers are off road and can access places we cant …. that maybe true, but not when theyre camped opposite us at the Halifax Holiday Park; and our site was arguably more difficult to back the van onto …. plus it was dark when we did it.
Watching the Complete Campsite in the back of the pic packing up in the rain, it certainly didnt look like $50k value …… it looked a lot like hard, wet work folding a big soaked rag into a box
We went for a drive around the area. Ross went for run last night and came across the Anchorage Marina at Corlette Point. Its a relatively new looking private marina and hotel complex … and it looks pretty good
Daniel had his new favourite meal for lunch … honey chicken with noodles
Ross met a new friend, Sandra. Shes helping Ross to comes to terms with his inability to catch a damn fish. Sandra said Ross is just shit at fishing …. but did say she was wasnt an expert.
…. and most certainly no smoking dogs, riding scooters. (As impressive, and cool as that may be)
Who said we’re just pretenders !! … glampers !! … an embarrassment to the tradition of camping. In the genuine rough’in it, true sense of the spirit of camping …. we’re having a BBQ, whilst watching the Australian Open
…. with Daniel watching cartoons on Foxtel on the other TV
… and we tape The Block for Barb on yet another TV
Did we mention the BBQ !!! We’re having a BBQ too
