The esplanade and foreshore in Mooloolaba is beautiful. The highrise buildings arent high enough to block the sun like Surfers, and they dont dominate the skyline.
Tomorrow we’ll grab a couple of pics of the foreshore which is also really nice.
We went for a long run this morning. Ross was tied up with some building paperwork and phone calls so the temperture crept up and by the time we left it was really hot. By the time we got back we were both completely knackered ….. but the beach was calling. You cant describe the enjoyment of living in shorts and singlet, waking up to swimming weather at 5am, going for a run and at the end of the run jumping into the 23 deg surf to cool off, and walking 100 yards back to camp. This is assuming you dont mind waking at 5am, and you enjoy an inspired run along the waters edge ………… if not then you wont get it, so get stuffed and find your own paradise.
Barb ventured out behind the dumping waves today. Barb doesnt like to go anywhere near big dumpig waves, but she was convinced to swim out with Ross and Daniel and try her luck (or risk her life as she would describe it). It was all going nicely, but the anxiety built up and she headed back to the shallows. Tomorrow she’ll be dragged out again.
The caravan park is so packed in, the Jayco camper on the left of the photo had to pull down the front section of his annex so the guy with the blue camper trailer could back his camper into his site. Daniel got a few mozzie bites today and Ross had to get 10 people to move their chairs off the street and move a car from the middle of the road just to get our car out so he could go to the chemist.
We wandered over to the marina this afternoon, which is opposite the caravan park, to see if Ross could put his kayak in the water around the marina somewhere, because he can kit up at camp and walk it to the marina. There’s a Golden Breed surf shop in the marina. Those of us old enough to remember life before Ripcurl, Billabong, Quiksilver and surf shops that dont stock or sell surfboards, would recall the two hippest rockin surf brands of the day, Hang Ten and Golden Breed. Hang Ten went to god, but Golden Breed is alive and well, right here.
They went hand in hand with this.
The stuff in the shop is great, it’s a nice mix of retro and current. We grabbed a couple of things for Daniel. Turns out the company is in Caulfield …. thats even cooler (wholesale prices)
This pic speak volumes ….. rock on Ross, you rule.
Old guys rule !!!!!!! (When theyre allowed. Barb said it was ok to post this pic)
A very true philosophy …………… something we would expect to find in Byron Bay, the capital of a counter culture known for it’s high degree of wisdom ….. (not really, Byron’s actually full of wankers who wouldn’t know if their arse was on fire)
