Here’s where we are in Fantastic Yamba
Started the day with a little bit of a sleep in. Woo Hoo. Ross wandered off early for his morning coffee fix. He checked out the beaches and past this building on the way to the beach with a sign the restaurant ….. the place looked like a death trap. Later in the evening we could see the tables were set and the restaurant sign was lit up.
The red arrow in the pic attached to the tree points down a dodgy rotten ramp that’s signed, “fresh Seafood” …. But there’s nothing at the bottom of the ramp.
After Ross’s morning coffee wander he returned to take Poo Poo out for a croissant for breakfast. It’s a little like the French Riviera here. We added cheese and ham to the croissant to give it more Poo Poo Head appeal … it kind of worked.
Around this part of the NSW coast is a string of Credit Union branches called the Banana Coast Community Credit Union …. I’m not so sure I’d be completely comfortable depositing my hard earned cash into something called the Banana Coast Community Credit Union.
We lost Poo Poo Heads swimming hat so did the shop run to find a replacement. Of course we found it in the last shop we visited, which is where we should have started as it was the closest to where we started looking. Returned to camp and off for a swim in the caravan park pool. The water was crystal clear and a perfect temperature.
We thought it a good opportunity to take Poo Poo Head’s mini inflatable surf mat for its maiden voyage to test its sea worthiness before unleashing it at the surf beach after lunch.
The surf mat is a replacement for the upside down inflatable non tip shark we bought him in Port Macquarie. (Port Macquarie seems so long ago) The surf mat performed admirably, but it didn’t have much competition in the upside down shark.
Poo Poo Head did some jumping into the water at the pool and let loose his tell tale scream after submerging.
After lunch we spent the whole afternoon at the beach. The surf was beach breaking, so it wasn’t much good for surfing but the water and beach were pretty good anyway. Poo Poo Head rode his surf mat and managed to get trashed a couple of times.
Barb even had a dip with Ross’s boogie board (just as the camera started for mist up inside the underwater housing)
Ross took the underwater camera and his boogie board fins and swam out into the breaks to try to capture some shots for a laugh.
There’s some odd people here as well. Ross didnt know why or what the hell she was doing, but thought it best to take the picture anyway.
Couple of snaps from outside the camper.
It’s about 8.30pm and we still haven’t decided where we are going tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Inland via Tamworth or the coast ….. the coin may have to be tossed later tonight
